Human Resources Paid Internship
Reports to Human Resources Generalist
POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is, but is not limited to, assisting the HR department with on-boarding functions, data entry into HR Information System, personnel filing, maintaining spreadsheets and various projects as assigned. This is a limited term position and works either part-time or full-time during core business hours Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. This is a non-exempt position.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:
• Assist in Management of all Human Resources Systems
o Employee files and personnel records and affiliated filing
o HRIS Employee and Attendance Tracking software
o Review Process
o Bi-Annual compensation and market reviews
• Recruitment Processes
o Personnel Requisitions
o Screening
o On-boarding process
• Contribute to philanthropic initiatives in conjunction with local organizations (i.e,
United Way, Red Cross)
o Facilitate events
o Communication
• Research
o Multiple state compliance
o Employee Benefits and Wellness
o New program initiatives
CORE COMPETENCIES:
• Education and/or experience equivalent to a minimum of an Associate’s degree from an
accredited college or university with a degree in Human Resources or related discipline (preferred)
• Current student in good standing at a accredited college or university studying in the
field of Human Resources.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills,
including strong listening skills
• Ability to perceive and project what is anticipated to happen and change priorities
accordingly
• Ability to multi-task and stay on task with regular interruptions
• Ability to work and remain flexible in an aggressive, fast-paced, constant
priorities-changing environment
• Willingness to assume challenging and special projects
• Willingness and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated high levels of organization skills
