Should I allow pop-ups?
Setting your pop-up blocker to enable successful viewing of the MyTASC website
application is not the same thing as completely disabling your pop-up blocker. Due to the
enhanced software used to build the MyTASC website application, some internet browsers
perceive MyTASC screens as "pop-ups." The MyTASC website application is safe and secure
- this is simply a technology challenge. You can set your computer security to allow the use
of pop-ups only for the MyTASC website application. Follow the simple steps outlined
below in
How do I allow pop-ups? so you can view MyTASC while still blocking
other unwanted and/or unauthorized pop-up windows.
IMPORTANT TIP
: If the pop-up blocker is preventing a new browser window from opening, press the
Ctrl key while clicking on a link with your mouse. This combined keyboard
and mouse functionality will allow a new browser window to open from a "blocked" website.
To
allow pop-ups for a specific website, visit that site first, and then click the Pop-Up
Blocker Button or link on your toolbar. To
prevent pop-ups for a specific website, your pop-up blocker must be
enabled for that specific website.
NOTE: Disabling the pop-up blocker for
www.tasconline.com (and therefore MyTASC) will not disable
your entire pop-up blocker; it simply enables you to successfully view the MyTASC page. All
other unauthorized pop-ups will remain blocked as usual.

How do I allow pop-ups with the Google Toolbar?
Google: Adding Approved Websites to Your
Computer’s “Whitelist”
We realize that sites sometimes communicate useful information with pop-up windows. The
Google Pop-up Blocker can be told to remember these sites so that pop-up windows are allowed to
launch. This information is stored on your computer in what's known as a "whitelist." The
Google Pop-up Blocker uses the whitelist to turn itself off when you visit sites whose pop-ups you
wish to see. Please note: Users cannot view or manually edit the “whitelist.” You can
only add and remove sites from this list by toggling the Pop-up Blocker button on and off.
To
allow pop-ups for a specific website on your Google Toolbar:
-
Visit www.tasconline.com
-
Click the Google Toolbar "Pop-up Blocker" button
The button text will change to display the number of ads you've blocked.
Clicking the button indicates either that the Pop-up Blocker has resumed activity on that site, or is allowing Pop-Ups from a site you have designated.
How do I allow pop-ups with the Yahoo Toolbar?
Yahoo: Adding Approved Websites to Your
Computer’s “Allowed Sites” List
Many people have the Yahoo toolbar added to their Internet Explorer, Mozilla, or Firefox
internet browser. The Yahoo Toolbar is often installed without users knowing it because it is
bundled with many types of free software available on the Internet, including Yahoo Instant
Messenger, and the Shockwave plugin for most web browsers. Like most browser toolbars, the Yahoo
Toolbar includes its
own pop-up blocker. Fortunately, there is a way to add an 'Allowed Site'
list which allows you to configure it to disable pop-up blocking (or allow the pop-up) when
you visit MyTASC.
The Yahoo Toolbar looks something like this (the Pop-up blocker icon has an orange box around
it):
To disable pop-up blocking for MyTASC in the Yahoo Toolbar, do the following:
-
Open Internet Explorer
-
Enter www.tasconline.com in the Address field
-
Click on Yahoo Toolbar's PopUp Blocker tool (featured in orange box in the image above)
-
Select “Always Allow Pop-Ups From... “
-
Then select MyTASC or www.tasconline.com from the Sources of Recently Blocked Pop-Ups list and click Allow.
-
Click on the Refresh button in Internet Explorer
You should now be able to access MyTASC.
