HIPAA Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find more guidance on what to do with each of the documents I received in my HIPAA package?
The first document in your package, the HIPAA Compliance Administration Manual, is a valuable tool that will walk you through our service as well as the actions required pertaining to the other documents in the package, training your team, etc. We suggest looking over this document first to familiarize yourself with our services.
Do we need to sign any documents and send them back to you?
None of the HIPAA documents sent to you within the HIPAA Compliance package need to be returned to us. Those are for your use and records.
Can you modify or personalize my HIPAA documents?
We do not personalize any of the documents. You can make your own modifications, but any changes would be the employer’s liability.
We have had a HIPAA breach. What should I do now?
Assisting with a HIPAA breach is outside of the scope of our services. Please contact your legal counsel, as there are strict guidelines on what must be done.
Who is my Privacy Officer?
The Privacy Officer should be someone appointed at your company to service as the contact person for participants (employees) who have questions, concerns, or any complaints about how the employer manages their PHI. Typically, this individual maintains all documentation related to compliance and trains staff who have access to PHI.
