This year, TASC is celebrating a milestone that few companies achieve. In 2025, TASC (Total Administrative Services Corporation) is celebrating 50 years in business.
Since starting in 1975 as a small, local insurance agency in Stevens Point, WI, TASC has been helping family farmers, small business owners, and large private and public sector employers provide affordable employee benefit accounts, benefit continuation and health and welfare benefit compliance services for their organization and employees throughout the United States.
Our founder, Don Rashke, transitioned into insurance after a successful career as a dairy farmer in Northcentral Wisconsin. When beginning his insurance business, he often wondered why his farming neighbors couldn’t benefit from some of the same tax benefits other businesses could when offering health insurance. He started searching the tax code for an answer, and out of that research came the revolutionary services AgriPlan and BizPlan. This prompted a move to Madison, WI, and a complete change from an insurance company to an employee benefits third party administrator. And as they say… ”The rest is history.”
In the last fifty years and with an ever-expanding list of services, TASC has been able to help tens of thousands of businesses and millions of employees pay less in taxes and invest more in their health and prosperity while having peace of mind that they are meeting the required regulatory requirements. To accomplish this amazing feat, TASC has continually evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients and their employees by working hand-in-hand with them to provide employee benefit services that feel like benefits.
The evolution of employee benefits has not been easy with unpredictable legislative changes, increasing government oversight, and employers seeking ways to attract and retain talent while meeting the employee benefit needs of a muti-generational workforce. This has created complexity and confusion in the benefits industry and for employers and employees alike, but TASC embraces challenges. Our innovative DNA has helped solve problems differently. We have leveraged technology and manufacturing principles to help us to scale, be efficient, and meet the changing needs of our customers.
What started as one innovative service offering has grown into over 100 different employee benefit accounts, continuation services, and compliance offerings over the years. The truth is, no other TPA has the breadth of offerings that TASC has… regardless of what they say. Plus, with our technology, employers can create a customizable benefit solution that they want and that their employees need and demand in today’s workforce.
The apex of our evolution was in 2023 with the relaunch of the industry-exclusive MyTASC platform. MyTASC integrates more than 50 different benefit accounts, in addition to benefit continuation and compliance services, all on one single cloud-based proprietary administrative platform — giving employers, HR professionals, and their employees a universal experience to access all their benefits in one place… one website, one mobile app, one debit card, and one call center.
However, our innovation isn’t stopping. We are proud to announce that in our 50th year, we are launching another innovation: GiveBack Benefits. GiveBack Benefits is a set of charity giving accounts and offerings to meet the philanthropic needs of all organizations. Through GiveBack Benefits, employers can assist their employees in a crisis, provide employees scholarships for education, donate to charities through a Donor Advised Fund and put money aside in a savings account or donate to the charity of their choice. It has always been our culture to give back to the community; it is how we tick as an organization and as employees. We decided that launching GiveBack Benefits was the right way to celebrate our 50th anniversary.
As we look back at all the success and the challenges over the years, we are proud to be among the rare companies that have existed for 50 years. As I think about all the employees of TASC since the beginning, and our current employees, I marvel at what they have accomplished. They make an impact on people in real and tangible ways.
